Intelligent Mobility: basic concepts

Smart Mobility is an integrated mobility system whose management comes into play with the new technologies and ICT systems (Information and Communications Technology) that allow the use of “intelligent” means and modalities to move or move: electric vehicles and bicycles in particular, but also mobility methods such as car sharing.

Circular Economy

The circular economy is a planned economic system to reuse materials in subsequent production cycles, reducing waste to the maximum. The linear economic model “take-make-dispose” is based on the accessibility of large amounts of resources and energy and is increasingly less suitable for the reality in which we are operating.

Efficiency initiatives, which work to reduce the resources and fossil energy consumed per unit of production, alone can delay the crisis of the economic model, but they are not enough to solve the problems created by the limited nature of the stocks.

Therefore, the transition from the linear model to a circular model is necessary, taking into account all its phases, from planning to production, consumption and to the final destination of life.

It is about taking advantage of all opportunities to limit the contribution of materials and energy contribution to minimize waste and losses, paying attention to the prevention of negative environmental externalities to generate a new social and territorial value.

This term refers to sharing a vehicle, whether a bicycle, a car or a scooter. It is a service that allows you to use a vehicle, rent it for hours, book it, drive it and return it in a parking lot, and pay for its use.

Car pooling, a term used to refer to cars shared in a group, indicates a mode of transport that consists of sharing private cars among a group of people, with the main objective of reducing transport costs. It is one of the intervention areas of the so-called sustainable mobility.

How do you know where to recharge your electric vehicle?

How to move in traffic?

ADVANTAGES OF THE ELECTRIC VEHICLE

RECHARGING TYPES

For charging stations, the standard reference is IEC 61851-1.

This e-regulation foresees an electronic control system that uses a “universal” communication system between the station and the vehicle through a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) circuit, necessary to guarantee the safety of the charging process, both for people and to avoid damage to the vehicle’s battery.

MODE 1

Domestic recharge without PWM.

Mode 1 consists of the direct connection of the electric vehicle to the normal electrical outlets. Therefore, the Control Box is not provided. This mode is only suitable for electric bicycles and some scooters. It does not apply to electric cars

MODE 2

Safe recharge at home / business level, slow or fast.

In the vehicle’s power cable there is a device called Control Box (PWM safety system) that guarantees the safety of operations during charging, sockets that can be used are domestic or industrial up to 32 Amp, Ampere is a unit of electric current. (single-phase and three-phase, 22kW max.).

MODE 3 

Refills for public areas, slow or fast

It is the mandatory form for public areas, recharging must be done through a specific power system with specific connectors, the PWM security system is present, the recharge can be of the slow (16 A 230 V) or fast type (up to 32 Amp, Ampere is a unit of electric current, 400 V)
